The Lee Business School Story: The UNLV College of Business was renamed the Lee Business School in 2011 after a generous gift from local real estate developers and casino owners, Ted and Doris Lee. Its mission is to cultivate leaders who transform business. Lee Scholars are a cadre of high-achieving students who will be able to fulfill their dreams of obtaining a world-class education in business. Financial stability afforded by the Lee Scholars program will help to alleviate monetary concerns for recipients, allowing them the opportunity to focus on their studies and immerse themselves in the university experience. The Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies: The Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies was established in 1989 by the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to foster excellence in real estate education and research. Through partnerships with business and community leaders, the Institute strives to improve real estate business and effective public-policy practices in Southern Nevada. The Lied Institute seeks to advance real estate knowledge, inform business practice, and address issues that affect the real estate industry and public policy. The institute produces relevant and timely real estate research, supports educational programs in real estate economics and finance for students and professionals, and provides community outreach.
